Gas Controller

June 25, 2024 | Virtual Instructor-led Training | $750

Course Overview:

Fundamental Gas Controller Training designed to provide an overview of the following topics:

  • Overview – class content, Control Room Management requirements in code, overview of industry structure
  • What is natural gas – typical components in natural gas as well as possible contaminants and how the industry deals with them
  • Basic industry materials and equipment – walk through the components that typically make up a natural gas piping system from transmission to distribution
  • Pressure concepts and pipeline hydraulics – provide some basic concepts of how pressure is stored energy and that energy is used to transport gas down a pipeline creating pressure drop, illustrate how that pressure drop changes as the load in the pipeline system changes
  • Abnormal operating conditions – Illustrate how the pressure profile and flow information might change in the event of an abnormal operating condition
  • Pipeline maintenance, operation and integrity activities – illustrate the typical maintenance, operation and integrity activities that might impact the normal pressure profile of the network
